How to set up UTM parameters in Nabu for Facebook Feed?

UTM parameters are small tags added to the end of a URL (like utm_source=facebook) that tell an analytics tool such as Google Analytics where a visitor came from. Meta doesn't use these tags itself — it just passes them straight through in the product link — but once you add them, every click that starts from your Facebook or Instagram catalog will show up under "Facebook" (or whatever source/medium you choose) in your reports, separate from your organic or other paid traffic.

Why turn this on? Without UTM parameters, visits and conversions from your Facebook catalog can get lumped in with your regular website traffic, making it hard to tell how much revenue your catalog is actually driving.

Follow the below steps to add UTM parameters to your Facebook Feed:

  1. In our app, go to Settings > Feed Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the UTM parameters card.
  3. Fill in the fields according to your tracking needs:
  • Campaign Source — where the traffic is coming from, e.g. facebook
  • Campaign Medium — the marketing medium, e.g. social or cpc
  • Campaign Name — the name of the campaign, e.g. facebook_feed

You can leave any field blank if you don't need it.

  1. Once you're done, click Save in the bar that appears at the top of the page.

When you save, we automatically refresh your Facebook product feed so the new UTM parameters are added to every product link — not just new products. Depending on the size of your catalog, this refresh can take a few minutes to reach Meta Commerce Manager.

To check that it's working, go to any product in our app, open its details, and copy the product link. The link should now end with your UTM parameters, properly attached — for example:

https://example.com/products/sku123?color=blue&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=facebook_feed
