How does the Redirect Manager detect 404 errors on my store ?
When a visitor lands on a URL that doesn’t exist (a 404), Nabu Redirect Manager automatically logs that URL so you can act on it. The app makes it easy to see broken links as they happen and either fix them or ignore them — no manual scanning required.
What happens when someone hits a 404 ?
- A customer visits a broken URL (404) on your storefront.
- Nabu Redirect Manager detects the 404 and adds the URL to the app’s “Unresolved 404s” list on the Redirect Manager homepage.
- The entry includes the broken path and a "Found on" timestamp so you can see when it was first detected.
Where to find these 404s ?
- Open Redirect Manager app in your Shopify store → go to the Unresolved 404s tab on the homepage.
- Each logged URL shows the path, the “Set a Target Link” field for resolving it, and an action button like "Move to Ignored"
What you can do with an unresolved 404 ?
- Resolve the redirect : Enter the correct target URL in the target field to map the broken path to a valid page. This removes the URL from Unresolved 404s and sends future visitors to the target.
- Ignore the URL: Click Move to Ignored when you don’t want a URL to be shown again in Unresolved 404s.
