Choose What Content Appears in Your Sitemap
In the Nabu for Sitemap app, the Settings page lets you control which parts of your Shopify store are included in your sitemaps. Use this page to fine-tune what content search engines and visitors can discover.
These settings apply to both the HTML Sitemap and XML Sitemap.
Where to find Sitemap Sections settings
- Go to Nabu for Sitemap App
- Select the Settings page on the left nav
- Click on Content Settings
- Sitemap Sections displays a list of store sections you can include or exclude.
You can toggle the checkbox value to either include or exclude the entire section from both HTML & XML Sitemaps.

Available Sitemap Sections
You can enable or disable the following sections:
Products
- Includes all active products in your store
- Recommended to keep enabled for most stores
Collections
- Includes collection pages
- Helps search engines understand your product grouping and structure
Pages
- Includes Shopify pages (About Us, Contact, FAQs, etc.)
- Important for brand and informational SEO
Blog Categories
- Includes blog category or blog listing pages
- Useful if your store uses blogs for content marketing
Articles
- Includes individual blog posts
- Recommended if you regularly publish content
How changes affect your sitemap
- Changes apply immediately to both HTML and XML sitemaps
- Search engines will pick up updates during their next crawl
Additionally, you can use the Refresh button on the Sitemap dashboard.
For more granular control (individual pages or products), use the Manage Content page instead.
