Compressing Images in the Nabu Image Optimizer App
This guide covers the home page layout, how to compress images, and how to view results.
Home page overview
The home page shows three stats at the top:
- Total Images in Store — Total number of images synced from your Shopify store
- Compressed Images — Number of images you've optimized so far
- Saved Space — Total file size saved through compression
Below the stats is an image table with tabs for Products, Collections, and Blogs. Each row shows the image thumbnail, product title, optimization status, last optimized date, file size, and an action button.

How to compress an image
- Find the image you want to compress in the table.
- Click the Compress button on that row.
- The Compression Options modal opens. It shows:
- Current Size — The image's current file size
- Select Compression Level — A slider to choose between Low, Medium, and High compression
- Estimated New Size — The predicted file size after compression, with the estimated percentage reduction
- A preview of the image
- Adjust the compression level slider to your preference.
- Click Begin Compression.

After compression
Once compression finishes, the row updates:
- Status changes from "Not Optimized" to "Optimized" (shown in green)
- Last Optimized shows the date and time
- Size now displays both the original ("Before") and compressed ("After") sizes
- The Compress button changes to a View button

Viewing image details
Click the View button on any optimized image to open the View Image Details modal. It shows:
- The percentage of file size saved (e.g., "You saved ~26% in file size with compression without losing quality.")
- A side-by-side comparison of the Original image and the Optimized image
- The original and optimized file sizes displayed below each image
Click Close to return to the home page.
