# Do I need to set up Shopify Markets before using Geo Redirects?

## Yes — Geo Redirects routes visitors to your Shopify Markets, so at least one Market must exist before there's anywhere for it to send them.

Markets (countries, languages, and currencies) are created and managed in **Shopify admin**, not inside our app. In **Geo Redirects > Markets**, we show a read-only view of whatever Markets you've already configured in Shopify — this is where you'd click **Sync** to pull in recent changes, or **Open Shopify Markets** to add or edit one.

If you haven't set up any Markets yet, do that in Shopify first, then come back and click **Sync**.
