How do I compress all my images at once?

Select every image that matches your current tab and filters, start one bulk job, and watch it run from the home page.

Bulk actions used to reach only the rows on the page you were looking at, so a large store needed several passes. You can now select every image in the active tab in one click, start a single job, and keep using the app while it runs.

Follow the below steps to compress your images in bulk:

  1. In our app, go to the Home page and select the tab you want to work in — Products, Collections, or Blogs.

  1. Optional: click the search icon and narrow the list using the Optimization status and Image size filters. Select all covers only what your current tab, search, and filters show.

  1. Click the checkbox in the table header to select the rows on the page. Then click the "N Products Selected" dropdown and click Select all N Products.

  1. The label now shows the full count, and every row checkbox is ticked and locked while the selection is active. Click Deselect all in the same dropdown to clear it. Changing the tab, the search, any filter, or Products per page also clears the selection.

  1. Click Compress. The Compress N Images window shows the total current size, the estimated new size, and a preview of the largest selected image. Move the Select Compression Level slider to Low, Medium, or High. The level you select applies to every image in the job.

  1. Click Begin Compression. The Compressing Images card shows how many images are done, a progress bar, and a percentage. You can continue to use the app while the job runs, and the card is still there if you refresh the page or open the app again later.

Why are the checkboxes greyed out while a job runs?

Only one bulk job runs per store at a time. The header checkbox and the row checkboxes stay disabled until the job finishes, so a second bulk action cannot start. The Compress button on a single row and the ··· menu stay available, so you can still work on one image.

  1. When the job finishes, the card changes to Compression completed and shows how many images were compressed and how much space you saved.

Restore Originals restores the original images for this job only, not for the rest of your store.

Retry Failed starts a new job for the images that did not finish, at the same compression level. It is shown only when an image fails.

Done dismisses the card.

Restoring images in bulk works the same way. Select your images, click Restore, and the Restoring Images card tracks the job until it shows Restoration completed.

That's all — we will take care of the rest.
