How to Add the HTML Sitemap to Your Shopify Store

An HTML Sitemap is a human-readable page that lists all important links of your store in an organized format. It helps visitors navigate your store easily and also helps search engines discover pages through internal linking.

This guide explains how to add the HTML Sitemap generated by Nabu Sitemap to your Shopify store.

What is the HTML Sitemap in Nabu Sitemap?

Nabu Sitemap automatically creates an HTML Sitemap page for your store.

  • It lists your store’s products, collections, pages, and blog content
  • It is meant for store visitors and internal navigation
  • It is not meant to be submitted to Google Search Console

👉 For search engines, you should submit the XML Sitemap instead

Step 1: Open the HTML Sitemap section in the app

  1. Open Nabu Sitemap from your Shopify Admin
  2. Go to the HTML Sitemap section
  3. You’ll see your HTML Sitemap link, usually like:

/apps/sitemap

You can click View HTML Sitemap to preview the page.

From the HTML Sitemap card, copy the link shown (for example):

https://your-store.myshopify.com/apps/sitemap

You’ll use this link when adding it to your store navigation.

Step 3: Go to Shopify Menus

  1. Open Shopify Admin
  2. Navigate to Content → Menus
  3. Choose the menu where you want to add the sitemap link

👉 Recommended: Footer menu

Footer placement is best because:

  • Visitors expect sitemap links there
  • It doesn’t clutter your main navigation
  • Search engines can still crawl it

## Example of a Generated HTML Sitemap
The default design, layout, and styling of the HTML Sitemap automatically follow your Shopify theme’s styles, ensuring it looks consistent with the rest of your store.

If you change your Shopify theme in the future, the HTML Sitemap will automatically adapt to the new theme’s design.

Additionally, you can use Nabu Sitemap’s app settings to customize the HTML Sitemap design based on your preferences.
