How quickly do schema updates take effect?
Schema changes made in Nabu Schema Pro are applied almost instantly.
How Schema Updates Work ?
When you toggle a schema on or off, change a setting, or save any configuration inside Nabu Schema Pro, the update is pushed to your storefront immediately. There is no sync queue, no scheduled job, and no waiting period on our end.
The structured data (JSON-LD) on your pages will reflect the new settings as soon as the next fresh page load occurs — which is why your experience can vary depending on your browser's cache state.
Why You Might Not See the Change Right Away
Your browser stores a local copy of visited pages (called a cache) so they load faster on repeat visits. When you update a schema setting, your browser may continue to serve the old cached version of the page — making it appear as though nothing changed, even though the update is already live.
This is the most common reason merchants don't see an immediate update after saving a setting.
Verifying a Schema Change
- Save your change — Enable, disable, or adjust a schema setting in Nabu Schema Pro.
- Go to your storefront — Navigate to the page type affected by your change (e.g., a product page for Product Schema).
- Hard refresh the page — Use the shortcut Cmd+Shift+R (MacOS) and Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows)
- Test on Google — Use the Test on Google button inside the app, or visit Google's Rich Results Test to confirm the updated structured data is live.
