Why Does Meta Pixel Helper Show Warnings on My Store?

If you see yellow warnings in the Meta Pixel Helper extension, don't worry — your pixel is most likely working correctly.

What's happening?

  • The Meta Pixel Helper browser extension sometimes flags warnings when it detects that pixel events are being fired in a non-standard way. Nabu uses a sandbox-based tracking method to fire events — this approach is completely safe, fully compliant with Meta's guidelines, and actually helps avoid duplicate event tracking.
  • Because this method differs from the traditional inline script approach, the Pixel Helper may not recognize it correctly and shows a warning. This is a known behavior and does not affect your tracking accuracy.

How do I know if my pixel is actually working?

The easiest way to confirm your setup is correct is to check whether events are appearing in Facebook Events Manager:

  1. Go to Facebook Events Manager.
  2. Select your pixel from the Data Sources tab.
  3. Navigate to the Test Events tab or the Overview section.
  4. If you can see events like PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, or Purchase showing up — your pixel is working perfectly.

If events are being received by Facebook, the warning in Meta Pixel Helper can safely be ignored.

Still concerned?

If no events are showing up in Events Manager (not just warnings in Pixel Helper), that may indicate a setup issue. In that case, please check:

  • That the App Embed Block is enabled in your Shopify theme.
  • That the relevant events are enabled on your pixel's settings page in Nabu.
