How to set up feed rules inside Google Shopping Feed?

This article covers the steps to insert values at the start or end of product fields like Title and Description, select target countries and languages, and manage the rules.

Feed rules in the Google Shopping Feed app allow you to insert values at the beginning or end of product fields, enhancing your product listings. Follow these steps to set up feed rules:


  • Go to Google Shopping Feed > Settings > Feed Rules.

  • Enable Feed Rules and click on "Add Rule."

  • Choose the field you want to change. Currently, you can modify two fields:
    • Title
    • Description
  • Specify Country and Language:

    • Select the country and language from the dropdown menu where you want to apply the changes.
  • Choose Insertion Position:

    • At the start: Adds the value at the beginning of the field.
    • At the end: Adds the value at the end of the field.
  • Select the Value to Insert:

    • You can choose to add a predefined value like Brand or Color, or enter custom text.
  • To apply the rule across all countries and languages, check the appropriate checkbox.

  • Manage Your Feed Rules:

    • Your added rules will be visible on the Feed Rules page.
    • Use the kebab menu (three dots) next to each rule to edit or delete it as needed.

  • After saving the feed rules, you will be able to view the changes in the selected fields within a few minutes.
