Why was my Meta business account restricted and how do I fix it?
Meta can place a restriction on a business account, which stops you from creating or using Facebook Pixels. Restrictions have to be resolved with Meta directly.
If Meta has restricted the business account you selected in our app, pixel creation will fail. We cannot create the pixel until Meta lifts the restriction.
Why does Meta restrict a business account? The most common reasons are:
- An ad or a landing page that Meta considers a policy violation.
- Unusual activity flagged by Meta's automated systems.
- An unpaid balance on the connected ad account.
- Business verification that has not been completed.
- Repeated ad rejections on the same account.
Follow the below steps to check and resolve the restriction:
- In our app, click Open Meta Business Settings on the error message. This opens Business Settings in a new tab for the business account you selected.

- Sign in to Meta and look for a notification banner at the top of the page. Meta shows the reason for the restriction and the action it expects from you.
- Open the Account Quality page in Meta to see the full status of your business account and ad accounts.

- Complete the steps Meta asks for. This is usually one of the following: complete business verification, clear an outstanding payment, or remove the ad that caused the violation.
- If you believe the restriction is a mistake, click Request Review in Meta and wait for their decision. Only Meta can lift a restriction.
- Once the restriction is lifted, come back to our app and create your pixel again.
Do you need to wait for Meta? Not always. If you have another Meta business account that is not restricted, select it from the Business Account dropdown and create your pixel there instead.
We cannot lift a Meta restriction for you, but our support team can confirm whether the error is coming from Meta. Chat with us from inside the app and we will take a look.
